It is with a great pleasure to announce that AIS has earned the FIRST Place and the THIRD Place in NVSEF competition for 2021.
The participation in the NVSEF enhances student engagement in science and engineering leading to authentic learning experiences and more positive attitudes in science and engineering.
Our teams initially were among 400 teams (round I) that were narrowed down to 43 teams (round II) and then reduced to 5 teams (Champions League).
A group of judges at the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh have evaluated the final 5 amazing teams in the Varsity (grades 7-8) category. The final prompts given to these teams were extremely challenging and each team tackled the prompt with creativity and ingenuity.
Raghad Gharbi and Judy Hassan, Grade 8, First Place Team, proposed an engineering design process to help desalinate the contaminated water in the rural villages.
Bader Al Zenki and Omar Abdulhadi, Grade 8, Third Place Team, proposed a scientific experimental design to use Black Seed Oil( BSO) to reduce Microbial growth on different surfaces.
We are proud of our students’ achievements!
