ALUMNI

Dear AIS alumnus,

On behalf of the American International School of Kuwait, it is our pleasure to announce to you, our graduates, the launching of the American International School Alumni Association. We are still accepting members to join! Due to the success of the last reunion in 2010 we would like to have a more active alumni community to prepare for our next gathering in 2015.

AIS is proud of the achievements of its graduates. Now that you have graduated from colleges and universities around the world, I am sure that you would love to get in touch with fellow classmates and old friends here at AIS.

Since 1991, there have been substantial changes. In 2003 the school was re-accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and as a result put into place a school improvement plan that focuses on curriculum development and implementation, facility renewal, and school governance. Since then, there have been vast changes throughout the school. In 2004 the IBO authorized AIS to be an MYP (Middle Years Programme) school and in 2007 we received the authorization for the PYP (Primary Years Programme). AIS has become a fully authorized International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) World School.

In addition to our academic development, the campus has changed a great deal. These changes include new classrooms, a new library with the area of 1,200 square meters, music rooms, a state-of-the-art 1,200 seat theater, strength-training and aerobics rooms, a new indoor gymnasium and outdoor shaded gymnasium for both the High School as well as Elementary School, and a soccer field on the roof.

AIS has also become paper and environmentally conscious with the implementation of the BYOD (bring your own device) system. The school has a complete coverage of top notch WIFI with backup generators and UPS to support around the clock technology services. Moreover, AIS has its own cloud in which all students have access to their own Office 365 accounts.

We welcome you all to pay us a visit and see these changes for yourself.

The next step in our development plan now involves you. The launching of this association allows each alumnus to give back to the community, because as you are aware, community service is an integral part of the AIS experience. Your participation as an alumnus or alumna of AIS is of great importance to the future of the school and its students. The association is a non-profit organization aimed at supporting AIS students and new alumni, providing a forum to form new friendships and business relationships with your fellow alumni and raising funds for the organization's projects.

Our students strive to be the best and are working towards a bright future. Who better to look up to than the successful graduates of this school?

We look forward to hearing from you all soon.
