Technology Integration

At AIS, we approach the integration of technology into the curriculum through the lens of our Mission Statement and IB Continuum. The Learner Profile of the Graduate, ISTE Standards and other IB Programmes documents inform teaching and learning with technology.

Every member of the school community shares a responsibility to foster technology literacy in all learners. Technologies' are anything that aids or extends you (the entire school community) Teaching and learning with technology (2015, IBO)

Use of Technology

The AIS campus is equipped with wireless internet for students and staff. In order to facilitate meaningful technology integration across the school:

  • KG classrooms have access to class sets of iPads.
  • Students in grades 1 through 12 are encouraged to bring their own devices to school on a daily basis.

Technology Integration Staff

AIS has two full-time, Pk-12 Instructional Coaches for Technology Integration who focus their attention on improving student achievement by working directly with teachers. This is achieved through cooperative planning within each school division and in consort with Coordinators and Principals. Coaches support professional staff development initiatives and the overall improvement of technology endeavors.

Instructional Coaches for Technology Integration:

  • Inspire, develop, and implement a shared vision for integration of technology.
  • Coach and model technology-enhanced learning experiences.
  • Create and support effective digital-age learning environments for both staff and students.
  • Develop technology-related professional learning programs and evaluate the impact on instructional practice and student learning.
  • Model and promote digital citizenship.
  • Continually deepen their professional knowledge and expertise.
