The mission of the AIS PK-12 Library is to provide opportunities for the community to become effective users of ideas and information. The learning commons space is for the AIS community to practice open-minded inquiry, communication and reflection.   

The PK-12 library collection includes current materials for both curricular and personal use, that are age-appropriate and support our school's mission and adhere to Ministry of Private Education rules and guidelines. The AIS Community can search the online catalog for books in the collections. AIS subscribes to Britannica School Online and the link is available via the catalog Home page.

The Librarians collaborate with faculty to help students learn information literacy skills.

Opening Hours

Sunday through Thursday 7:15 am to 3:00 pm

Check Out Policies

  • Students must have their school ID to check out a book from G2 and above.
  • Students with overdue, lost or damaged books are not allowed to check out until they have returned or paid for their books.  This may delay reports.
  • KG1-G2: 1 English language book, 1 Arabic language book for 6 school days.
  • G3-G4: 1 Fiction and 1 Non-Fiction book can be English or Arabic language for 6 school days.
  • G5-G8: 3 books for 14 school days.
  • G9-G12: 5 books for 14 school days.
  • Textbooks are in addition to these totals and are loaned out per unit or per year, as necessary.

ES Bookroom

  • Resources are available in the Elementary Bookroom (176) for Teacher Guided Reading resources along with student choice take-home reading.
  • Huda Sahli is our designated ES Bookroom librarian.
